HOW TO CONFIGURE MICROSOFT TEAMS DIALER (PREVIEW)?

Microsoft Teams dialer helps sellers to be more productive and get work done more effectively by calling customers directly from within Dynamics 365 Sales app.

2. Configure the Dialer:
Step 1: Sign into your Dynamics 365 Sales Hub App
Step 2: Change the area from “Sales” to “App Settings”
Step 3: Under “General Settings” Click on Teams Calls (Preview)
Step 4: In the What you need to set up Microsoft Teams calls section the application validates that your organization has sufficient privileges to use the Phone system and Microsoft Teams.

  • Upon successful validation, the status corresponding to the Phone system licenseand Teams license displays Status: Successfully set up.

Step 5: Select Enable preview.

Step 6: In the Security role section, select one of the following options to provide permissions to users to access the Microsoft Teams dialer.

All security roles

Allows all the security roles to access the Microsoft Teams dialer.

Specific security roles

Allows only the selected security roles to access the Microsoft Teams dialer.
Note:
– Ensure that the security roles you’ve selected are associated with the root business unit (top level in the business unit hierarchy). If not, the users will not see the Teams dialer in the Sales Hub app. More information: 


Step 7: Select Advanced options, and in the Select app drop-down list, select, and add apps such as your custom apps. By default, Sales Hub is selected.

Step 8: Save and publish the configuration. A confirmation message is displayed, and the Microsoft Teams dialer is enabled in your organization for selected security roles in the selected app.

3. Assign a Phone Number to a User

When assigning a phone number to a user, make sure the phone number and the usage location of the user are of the same country.

Step 1: Open the Microsoft Teams admin center and login with a user that is a Global admin. This is usually the account you used to sign up for Microsoft 365.

Step 2: In the left navigation, click Voice > Phone numbers.

Step 3: On the Phone numbers page, select an unassigned number in the list, and then click Edit.

Step 4: In the Edit pane, under Assigned to, search for the user by display name or username, and then click Assign.

Step 5: To assign or change the associated emergency location, under Emergency location, search for and then select the location.

Step 6: Depending on whether you want to send an email to the user with their phone number information, turn off or turn on the Email user with telephone number information. By default, this is on.

Step 7: Click Save.

4. Change a Phone Number for a User

Step 1: In the left navigation, click Users, locate and double-click the user you want, click Account, and then under General information, make a note of the phone number that’s assigned to the user.

Step 2: In the left navigation, click Voice > Phone numbers.

Step 3: On the Phone numbers page, select the number that you identified in step 1, and then click Edit.

Step 4: In the Edit pane, under Assigned to, click the X to remove the user.

Step 5: Click Save.

Step 6: On the Phone numbers page, select an unassigned number in the list, and then click Edit.

Step 7: In the Edit pane, under Assigned to, search for the user by display name or username, and then click Assign.

Step 8: To assign or change the associated emergency location, under Emergency location, search for and then select the location.

Step 9: Click Save

5. Remove a Phone Number from a User
Step 1: In the left navigation, click Users, locate and double-click the user you want, click Account, and then under General information, make a note of the phone number that’s assigned to the user.

Step 2: In the left navigation, click Voice > Phone numbers.

Step 3: On the Phone numbers page, select the number that you identified in step 2, and then click Edit.

Step 4: In the Edit pane, under Assigned to, click the X to remove the user.

Step 5: Click Save.

 

Output:

1. To call a customer through a Dynamics 365 record

Step 1: Open a record. In this example, we’re opening a contact record.

Step 2: In the Business Phone field, a phone number has been associated with the contact CRM Admin

Step 3: Select corresponding to the phone number. The call is established.

2. To call a customer manually

Step 1: Open the Teams dialer.

Step 2: Enter the phone number of the customer, or search for the customer through the dialer search box.
